Changes and surprises with the full moon in Aquarius

With this full moon in Aquarius, say hello to surprises and things that you don't expect. Not only is this full moon in the sign of Aquarius, the sign of innovation and trying new things and thinking, but this full moon is square Uranus in Taurus. Aquarius is a visionary sign, so we're mentally thinking about things and considering ways we can improve them both for ourselves in our own lives, but also very much the collective and people as a whole.

One thing that's really great here is that Uranus is the planet of freedom, authenticity, rebellion and innovation, but it can also be very much about being unpredictable. So what I really love about this full moon, is that it's an opportunity for you to break a pattern or do something differently, and it can be something that helps on the collective level or within your own life.

I always like to think that anytime we make any change on a personal level that we are actually also changing things on a collective level. We may not see it right now, we may not see it in our lifetimes, but every single thing we do in our own lives that's positive does help the future collective as we improve the lives of each individual.

Saturn in Pisces, the ruler of this full moon, gives you the opportunity to think about long term plans and goals, like what you can change now that over time will be supportive to you. Saturn will help you create boundaries around what you do have the time and capacity for, and what you don't. Within just a few hours of the full moon, Jupiter squares Saturn, and this aspect is asking you to dream big with a little bit of realism. You’ll need to declutter your mind and get focused on the things that you really want.

So what that means is that Jupiter in Gemini wants you to think and talk, and have wondrous ideas about what it is that you want, what you want in your life and the kind of life you want to have. However, Saturn working with Jupiter is saying, “hey that's all really nice and I'm excited for you, but let's hone in on what you really want to focus on so that you’re not too scattered, and can actually do a really good job focusing on the thing you want to make happen.”

I know we're coming off (and still in the midst of) some really challenging astrology with Mars conjunct Jupiter and Mars square Saturn followed by Jupiter square Saturn with the full moon, but I'm actually really excited about how we're coming out of this time.

I know that we're still going to be feeling the challenging effects of these tricky aspects through the end of the month but I want to just say: Anything that was challenging that came up for you during this time, anything that caught you unaware, anything that just felt like ohh my gosh what am I supposed to do now, or if you're like I really wanna break this habit or I wanna do something differently and I'm ready to do it, however this energy shows up for you, in just a few days after the full moon on August 22nd, the sun enters Virgo!

The Sun in Virgo is going to help you bring some order and efficiency back to your life. So if there's anything you're feeling like you have to put back together after the series of challenging transits, you have got the support of the Sun in Virgo.

The Sun in Virgo is a much, much more grounded experience of getting things done then when the Sun is in Leo. You will be able to create tangible results in your physical space like your office or your workspace or in your home, you will be able to improve your systems and organization so that any of those messy pieces that dropped during these transits can start to be put back together again. With Mercury still retrograde, there's another reason why it's good to keep going slow, review and see how things are going. After Mercury stations direct on August 28, you’ll start to notice things beginning to have some momentum again.

I do want to note: As you review and make necessary adjustments after the potential challenges you’ve been facing, make sure that you're not being so super focused on getting everything just right or perfect whether you're creating a new system or reinventing an old one, or trying something new. Whatever it is, don't get so focused on things being perfect or exactly as you want them that you're not able to get started or get anything done.

I kind of like to think of this time almost like you’re on an upswing of some sort. It's not a fast upswing. It’s a way to help guide you through the rest of this month during the waning moon phase and lingering effects of other astrology. It's an opportunity to make some necessary changes and updates.

And not all changes have to be necessary. You can just want to make a change or do something different. Give yourself the time and space you need to get reorganized after what has shifted during all of these challenging aspects leading up to the full moon as we head into Virgo season.
